Nathan and I were co-chairs for an adoption group two years ago when we lived in the Houston area. We moved away, but are back in Houston and loving it! Right before moving back I was doing the dishes one day. I was listening to a song by David Archuleta. It is called "Glorious". Here are some of the lyrics:
There are times when you might feel aimless
And can't see the places where you belong
But you will find that there is a purpose

And as I was listening to this beautiful song I couldn't stop thinking about adoption. And I realized that was my "purpose", my "part". I have loved adoption for as long as I can remember. Recently I have been very moved by the number of foster care children waiting for families. I believe that every person deserves to have a family that loves them and that you never outgrow that.
My hope is that as we start up this United For Adoption - Houston chapter, that we will grow and learn together and help each other on our adoption journeys.
